Success of the franchise’s latest movie

One Ghostbusters director congratulates another on the box office success of the franchise’s latest movie. After several lengthy delays, Ghostbusters: Afterlife was eventually released in theatres. Not only have fans enjoyed the film, but its box office performance has also been excellent. Its success has sought the attention of Paul Feig, who directed Ghostbusters: Answer the Call in 2016.

Feig praised Afterlife director Jason Reitman, as well as the rest of the film’s crew, on Twitter. Huge compliments to Jason Reitman and the whole Ghostbusters: Afterlife cast and crew on this great opening weekend, “Feig tweeted. The movie is fantastic. It’s really great to see a new generation of bustin’! Here’s to many more ecto experiences! “says the author.

Reitman recently addressed Feig’s 2016 film, and he praised the franchise’s resurgence as a result of it. For years, it seemed unthinkable that a new Ghostbusters film could be filmed without the original four protagonists reprising their roles as the major characters. While Paul Feig’s reboot received some criticism, Jason Reitman believes that Feig paved the path for him and possibly other filmmakers to experiment with fresh Ghostbusters tales.

Introducing new characters

At New York Comic-Con, Reitman noted, “Paul Feig really did the hard lifting [for me] in 2016 when he altered the idea of what a Ghostbusters film could be.” “Introducing new characters in a new setting within a mythology we’re familiar with was thrilling. In making Ghostbusters: Afterlife, I’m actually standing on his shoulders. ”

Reitman told Inverse that he wanted to “break open what a Ghostbusters movie could be.” Reitman was talking about his notion of Harold Ramis’ Egon Spengler still having a significant presence in the upcoming film, with his family members as the new main characters. That is the plot of the film. All the things we wish we could say to our loved ones but don’t. What happens when that someone isn’t around for the relationships that need to be repaired? ”

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was co-written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan. Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, and Bokeem Woodbine lead a fresh group of characters in the film. Bill Murray reprises his role as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd returns as Ray Stantz, Ernie Hudson returns as Winston Zeddemore, Sigourney Weaver returns as Dana Barrett, and Annie Potts returns as Janine Melnitz.

Some fans may have missed some Ghostbusters II references. Reitman has acknowledged that the first sequel is definitely canon to Afterlife and its theme may play a bigger role in the inevitable sequel. For the time being, you may see Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is currently showing in theatres, to see the legendary franchise return.
